Wine cakes are a traditional local famous food in Suzhou, Jiangsu province. The seasonal dim sum in spring has a similar appearance to small mooncakes. The paste is made with sake wine. It can only be sold in spring because of the weather, especially around Tomb-sweeping day. Wine cakes are often made with meat stuffing or vegetable stuffing, with different kinds of flavors of rose, bean paste, mint and so on. Hot wine cake has better taste, characterized by sweet fat soft and tough, oleosus and crystal, bright color and clear taste.
