Wenshi Hall located on the northwest bank of the town was built in the period of Emperor Daoguang’s reign in the Qing Dynasty. Yin Shoupeng and Yin Shouzhen brothers lived in the three-bay halls. Yin Shoupeng was No.4 scholar in the highest imperial examinations in the 22nd year of Emperor Daoguang’s reign (1842). It was told that he was teacher of Emperor Tongzhi. Yin Shouzhen was a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations in the 24th year of Emperor Daoguang’s reign and appointed the position of Bianxiu. Yin family in Lili named the hall Wenshi Hall to remember the history of gaining fame and fortune by studying hard because the brothers studied hard and became successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations.
