The compound of connecting courtyards located at No.30 Central Street, Lili Town, is a famous house in the regions south of the Yangtze River during the period of Emperor Qianlong’s reign in the Qing Dynasty. It was originally the private residence of Zhou Yuanli, Viceroy of Zhili and Minister of Works during the period of Emperor Qianlong’s reign in the Qing Dynasty. Its former name is Blessing Hall. There are six rows and the standby lane is 92.9 meters long. It covers an area of 2603 square meters, with a floorage of 2862 square meters and 101 natural rooms. The three existing brick-carving gatehouses are tall, gorgeous, vivid and of great artistic value.
整个宅院前后六进,现存三座砖刻门楼,高大气派、栩栩如生。庭院内绿植葱茏,漏窗剪影,婆娑生动,尽显江南名宅之古色古香。
馆内珍藏了柳亚子与南社相关的文物资料。从一本本、一册册发黄的典籍中,我们得以窥见当年南社人掀起的文学思潮及背后的忠贞气节。
